Cervical cancer: Epidemiology, aetiology, pathogenesis and main histological types

 
INTERMEDIATE CELLS . In the late secretory phase of the menstrual cycle  and in pregnancy  the morphology of the intermediate cells alters. They appear boat shaped,with thickened  cytoplasmic borders and eccentric nuclei.The cells are sometimes described as navicular cells and contain abundant glycogen which appears brownish in the light microscope.
